laser-cut foam, MDF, aluminium frame

100 cm x 70 cm

The laser-cut text consists of a sentence often used in the german L.A.R.P.-Scene (Live Action Roleplay), especially at the entrances of contemporary medieval markets. Participants of these scene are reanacting historical times or events. The font used is also used in this context.
The German sentence "Eintritt mit Gewandung" means "Entrance with garb". Usually guests with costumes or "Gewandung" get discounted entry price at contemporary medieval events. The term "Gewandung" is used in the scene to distance from the term "costume", which is considered to be inferior. "Gewandung" is also an outdated art historical term used to describe the garments that cover the human body in sculptures and paintings.
The german title "Geschichte Live" is an oxymoron and means "history live".
The work was shown in a display window at the Frankfurter Kunstverein, with the arrows pointing in the direction of the newly built old town of Frankfurt.
